Mango Smoothie

The Mango Smoothie is one of the greatest, most delicious beverages ever invented.

If you’re here, you’re looking to learn more about this extraordinary smoothie–how to make it; various recipes for mango smoothies with strawberries, pineapple, bananas; or perhaps where to find the best smoothie blender currently available.

This site contains all that info and much, much more.

I first tasted a mango smoothie when I was 18 on my first-ever visit to California. I’ll never forget the flavor of that smoothie–it was the most delicious thing I’d ever tasted, and I still love mango smoothies just as much today.

This site aims to share all the info I have about the mango smoothie so you can have at your disposal everything you need to know to make the best mango smoothie of your life.

For the rest of this article, I’m going to describe a basic mango smoothie recipe as well as the principles you can then use to create any variation on that basic recipe that will still knock your socks off.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your stay here, and let me know what your vote is for the best mango smoothie you’ve ever made!

A Basic Mango Smoothie Recipe

All mango smoothies emerge from the same basic form.

Three components make up the perfectly balanced mango smoothie:

  1. Mango — Frozen, Fresh or Liquid
  2. A Liquid Base (if not using Mango Juice) — Orange Juice and Coconut Water are my favorites
  3. Banana — to make the smoothie thick and smooth

Infinite variations emerge from these three building blocks of all mango smoothies.

If you’ve never had a mango smoothie before and are looking for the perfect introduction, try this recipe:

  • 10 ounces of frozen mango
  • 12 ounces of coconut water or orange juice
  • 2 ripe bananas

Instructions:

  1. Add all ingredients to blender
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

Incredible Mango Smoothie Additions

Once you’ve mastered the basic mango smoothie form, you’re ready to start trying different additional ingredients. Here are some of my favorite add-ons to my mango smoothies:

  • Cashews
  • Berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries)
  • Fresh Coconut Meat
  • Spinach
  • Spirulina or Vega powder
  • Healthy Oils like Hemp Seed Oil and Flax Oil

Add all of those ingredients at one time, and you have one heck of a powerful nutritionally dense mango superfood smoothie!

Smoothie Blending Secrets

Allow me to save you some of the trial and error I went through in my quest for the perfect mango smoothie.

First off, the key to the perfect smoothie is in nailing exactly the right amount of liquid you include. Your blender needs to have a minimum amount of liquid to begin turning the ingredients over and fully blending them. If you add too little liquid, the blender will rev and not much blending will happen. Too much liquid, and you’ll have a nice blended juice rather than a thick delicious smoothie.

Add your liquid with care until you’re sure you’ve got exactly the right proportion of liquid to non-liquid ingredients.

Secondly, watch out with adding water to your mango smoothies. If you have an overly thick smoothie and add water to thin it a little, your smoothie will taste remarkably less flavorful. This goes for ice as well–never trust any smoothie recipe that advocates you adding in ice to your smoothie ingredients.

Water in any form dilutes the flavors of your smoothie. If you don’t like things tasting too sweet, this may be just what you’re looking for. But if you can handle whatever amount of sweetness and are instead looking for a rich, delicious mango smoothie experience, stay away from water and ice.

Finally, don’t be afraid to add the greens (spinach, kale, parsley, etc.) and/or the green nutritional supplements (spirulina, vegan nutritional powder, etc.). Most people are a little nervous about adding greens in any form into their smoothies. But here’s why you should feel free to be bold with adding greens to your smoothies: first off, most people don’t consume as many leafy greens as they should. Mango smoothies easily mask all but the most intense greens, so feel free to add some to get the nutritional and energy benefit of consuming more greens right along with the delicious mango smoothie you’re already having.

For some reason, most people recoil when I show them the green hue of some of more more nutritionally fierce mango smoothies. What’s wrong with the color green? Add a handful of spinach to your next mango smoothie and tell me you barely taste the spinach while feeling incredible after drinking it!
